Dust Causing Explosions
Customer – I have a customer that is looking for a Containment Curtain. What they need it for is an area in their warehouse that they pull a railcar into and unload combustible dust. They want a Containment Curtain so if there is ever an explosion it will be just contained to that area and not spread throughout their warehouse. The size is 16W x 100L x 30H and they are looking for 1 Each. Would you be able to help me with this? Please let me know. Thanks
AKON – We do provide industrial containment curtains specifically for dusty applications inside of warehouses and factories. These curtains keep the dust contained in a confined area which is sectioned off with the curtain walls. The curtain should go all the way from the floor to the roof deck for a complete enclosure. We also offer antistatic material if it is a concern for electrical discharge which could cause an explosion. The curtain however, will not contain an explosion.
What is the best partition for keeping dust from traveling across a large space?
For a 36' high by 120' partition to control dust, we recommend using industrial dust control curtains from AKON. These curtains are designed to create a barrier that prevents dust from spreading across work areas, making them ideal for warehouses, manufacturing facilities, and industrial buildings.
What is the best way to install industrial curtain walls around obstructions like ducts and pipes?
For sealing off an automated powder coat process in a facility with 20ft ceilings and various obstructions, we recommend using a threaded rod or chain/cable curtain track that drops below the ducts and pipes. This allows the industrial curtain walls to hang freely without interference. To fully enclose the space, a curtain valance can be installed above the track, which can be trimmed as needed to seal around ducts, pipes, and other obstacles.
