Green Screens | Keying Fabrics
Green screen and blue screen materials are common names for keying fabrics. They are employed in the post-production phase of video production when a certain color, such blue or green, is removed from a shot. Keying is the process of effectively telling the camera not to notice a particular color, such as blue, so that any blue objects in the frame appear to be missing.
This method is also frequently called Green Screen or Blue Screen Technology. Claymation filming typically uses red screen technology. However, any color can be used for keying these days. Because digital keying cloth is more reflective than traditional keying cloth, it uses far less lighting and can result in cost savings on labor, electricity, and lights.
The newest offering from AKON in keying fabric, this matte finish matte fabric with a brushed finish is naturally flame resistant and chosen by major film studios.
