How are the Floor Straps attached at the bottom?
Solution
Akon industrial curtains typically use floor straps to secure the curtains at the bottom, ensuring stability and preventing them from flapping or moving due to air currents or other disturbances This is Velcro sewn at the bottom of the curtain, usually spaced every 4', and paired with a D-ring. You secure the Floor Strap by looping it into the D-ring and stick it back to itself. You can check out this page for more information about Floor Straps and other accessories.

Application
Can I customize curtain colors by adding windows only for viewing, but the rest are not transparent?
Solution
Yes, you can customize industrial curtains to include transparent viewing windows while keeping the rest of the curtain opaque. This option is commonly available for applications requiring visibility into enclosed areas without compromising privacy, containment, or light blocking.
Combination includes, but not limited to: opaque material (13oz, 18oz, 22oz) and clear material (20mil, 40 mil); opaque material and tinted material.
It is important to note that clear curtains/windows do not provide UV protection from welding sparks. Also, clear curtains cannot be seamed together with tinted curtains.
These applications are displayed on this page and this page.

What is the purpose of Floor Sweep?
Solution
Floor Sweep works like a Door Sweep. In general, curtains should not be touching the floor especially the sliding ones. This is to avoid the bottom edges to get damaged and wear out quicker than its standard useful life. This also means that there's a slight gap between the floor and the bottom of the curtain. Floor Sweep seals that gap, while keeping the bottom of the main curtain undamaged and remains replaceable if worn out. See this page for other details.
Application
Do I need to deduct Floor Sweep's height from the overall height of the curtain?
Solution
No, Floor Sweep is supposed to sit on the floor. This hangs 6" below the main curtain divider to close the gap.
Application

Application
How is the Curtain Valance mounted?
Solution

Can I field cut the curtain if there are pipes and other obstructions that has to pass through it?
Solution
Yes, you can field cut industrial curtains to accommodate pipes, ducts, or other obstructions. However, it's essential to follow proper steps to ensure the curtain remains durable and functional after modifications.
1. Mark the Cutting Area:
Use a marker or chalk to outline the area that needs to be cut.
Measure carefully to ensure accuracy and avoid cutting more than necessary.
2. Cut the Curtain:
Use a sharp utility knife or heavy-duty scissors to make clean cuts.
Cut slowly to prevent tearing or jagged edges.
3. Reinforce the Cut Edges:
To prevent fraying or weakening of the material, apply reinforcement tape such as the one that can be purchased from tear-aid.com (make sure to get Type B). If you anticipate cutting the curtains onsite, you can also include patch tapes on your order.
Field cutting allows you to adapt the curtain for custom installations without compromising its effectiveness, provided it’s done carefully. This is a common practice in this industry. Vinyl curtains are tightly reinforced and even if cut is made, they will not fray. Other information are available on this page.
Application

Can the vinyl curtain withstand strong acid?
Solution
Most standard industrial curtains are made of PVC (vinyl) or similar polymers, which have varying levels of chemical resistance. We have listed chemicals and compounds that were tested with our standard vinyl curtain material (includes, but not limited to, 13oz, 18oz, 22oz, 20mil). See these pages for their reactions and compatibility.
Application
Can I weigh the curtain down?
Solution
We can add a pocket to the bottom of the curtain, allowing you to insert a lightweight chain. A recommended chain size is approximately 3/16". The lightweight chain ensures the curtain remains flexible enough to slide side to side easily. You can use a longer chain if desired, giving you the option to anchor it to the floor or loop it around a post or column to secure the curtain in place.
Application
If I decided to proceed with the curtain order without the floor sweep, would I be able to add it later if needed?
Solution

Application
How can I seal the edges of the curtains to adjacent walls or posts?
Solution
The most common option we offer is a Velcro feature. We can provide stick-on Velcro strips that you can attach to the curtain and the structure where you want the curtain to be sealed. Another option is a magnetic button sewn onto the vertical sides of the tarp. This is ideal for sealing the curtain against a metal beam or post.
Application
Do you have magnet strips?
Solution
We do not offer magnetic strips, but we can install magnetic buttons on our curtains, spaced approximately 3 feet apart. If necessary, we can adjust the spacing to be shorter.
